Spartans Showing Interest

As Michigan State looks to close out the 2014 recruiting class they are also starting to show interest in prospects in the 2015 class. One of those prospects is West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West offensive lineman George Asafo-Adjei.

One of the top junior prospects in Southwest Ohio is offensive lineman George Asafo-Adjei out of West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West High School.

Asafo-Adjei has already seen three programs extend early scholarship offers.

"Right now I have offers from Kentucky, Western Michigan and Toledo," said Asafo-Adjei. "Michigan State has been sending me a lot of letters right now and I'm sending my tape out to them and others."

Could the Spartans expect a visit to East Lansing come anytime soon from the 6-foot-4, 300-pound Asafo-Adjei?

"Right now I'm not planning any visits as I'm wresting," he said. "One of the reasons I'm wresting is to bring my weight down as I weighted 305-pounds during the season and want to get down to 285-pounds."

Is there interest in the Spartans at this time during the recruiting process?

"Right now I would have medium interest in Michigan State," he explained. "They seem to be far away from home and I'm not looking to go too far from home. But if I went up there and liked it, I would probably have more interest."

Despite the early interest, Asafo-Adjei is not getting too caught up in all the attention.

"Right now I'm just trying to be humble and take my time with this recruiting stuff," he said. "My coach tells me to be patient and it will all workout in the end."
