On the season, the Spartans won road games at Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska and Northwestern while winning home contest against Indiana, Purdue, Michigan and Minnesota.
The eight Big Ten wins was the first time in school history the Spartans posted a perfect 8-0 record joining Ohio State (2013, 2006, 2002, 1997, 1995), Iowa (2002), Michigan (1997, 1980, 1971), Northwestern (1995), Illinois (9 games in 1983) and Penn State (1994). The Spartans are the first team to win all eight of its conference games by double-digit points since the league went to an eight-game schedule in 1971 and the first team since the 1943 Michigan team that went 6-0 winning by double-figure points.
