Cass Tech's quarterback Jayru Campbell is in police custody, according to multiple reports, after allegedly assaulting a school security guard Wednesday afternoon.
WXYZ in Detroit was the first to report Campbell was taken into custody, which has since been confirmed by Detroit Public Schools.
The Detroit Free Press reports that DPS said charges have been filed, but that a Wayne County Prosecutor's office spokeswoman did not have information about any such incident as of Thursday morning.
Video of the alleged attack surfaced Wednesday afternoon, in which a person thought to be Campbell is seen throwing a security guard to the ground.
Students were in the hallway, as were other security guards, when the incident took place.
The quarterback committed to Michigan State late in the summer. Michigan State cannot comment on athletes that have not yet signed a national letter of intent, which Campbell cannot do until February 2015.
Campbell also was accused of punching a Detroit Catholic Central player in the handshake line during the state playoffs.
