In our final evaluation series, we look at more than just highlight film as we evaluate athletic ability and future potential.
We work on a 1-to-5 scale in each area with five being the highest grade a prospect can receive.
SPARTAN DIGEST GRADING SCALE

Prospect shows major promise in area: = 4
Prospect is above average in area: = 5
HEIGHT, WEIGHT & SPEED
Much like his brother, Brian Allen may not have the height a college coach looks for when they start the recruiting process. However, projected as a center, he's got the weight ready to battle at the college level and shows the ability to reach second level defender. Grade: 2
QUICKNESS, AGILITY & BALANCE
With a wrestling background, Allen understands leverage and does a good job of keeping his balance. Shows quickness out of the snap and the agility needed for a center to play at a high level. Grade: 3
STRENGTH, EXPLOSION & BODY FLEXIBILTY
Allen's low center of gravity with his solid base and natural ability to bend provides him with the ability to have great explosion giving him not only brute strength but solid recoil in his lower body. Combine the two and you have a prospect that should be expected to fight early to see time on the field. Grade: 4
ON FIELD FUTURE PROJECTIONS
If he's anything like his brother we fully expect Allen to be on the field early in his career. Height not as much of a factor at the center position and what he lacks in that department he makes up for it with his willingness to battle to the end of the whistle. Solid run blocker who will need some fine tuning in pass pro. Grade: 4
