Jones sticks with Ohio State commitment

Chicago De La Salle offensive tackle elects to remain committed to Ohio State and not flip to Michigan State after a weekend official visit late in the process.

Michigan State was close to landing a commitment from Jamarco Jones in June, but came up short then.

The same held true with the Chicago De La Salle offensive tackle who kept his commitment to Ohio State on Tuesday after taking a weekend official visit to East Lansing.

It wasn't an easy decision for the 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman, who said he appreciated the opportunity Michigan State offered him.

"I really appreciate the coaching staff and fans," Jones said. "It was incredibly difficult to tell them I wouldn't be coming to Michigan State.

"They will continue to have a great program because of the great people that run it."

Michigan State has 21 commitments heading into Wednesday's signing day after securing a commitment from Sun Prairie (Wisc.) defensive tackle Craig Evans on Monday after he and Wisconsin parted ways.
