Dowell Looking Forward to Visiting MSU

This weekend could become the day running back Andrew Dowell has dreamed about when he returns to Michigan State. has the latest on the Ohio running back.

Last summer, Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward running back Andrew Dowell visited Michigan State with his brother David Dowell for one of the Spartans camp dates.

Having watched former Spartan great Le'Veon Bell, Dowell hopes to earn an offer from the Spartans soon to possibly follow Bell's path.

"I'm really interested in Michigan State," said Dowell. "The Spartans are definitely one of the schools I desire an offer from as I feel I'm a great fit in their offense."

Leading the way for MSU is Jim Bollman who recently spoke with Dowell.

"Coach Bollman invited us to come up to campus on Sunday," he said. "So right now it looks like we're going to go up and see the Spartans play Nebraska."

What has Coach Bollman said about the possibility of an offer being extended and what would one mean to the 6-foot-, 200-pound running back?

"Right now Coach Bollman is not saying too much about it as he's just keeping things in general," explained Dowell. "I'm really interested in Michigan State and would really look forward to an offer.

"We camped at Michigan State last summer and got our first scholarship offer from Toledo there. It was good to get in front of the coaches eyes and we really liked it up there."

With a growing offer list, Dowell is hearing from several programs.

"I've been hearing from Vanderbilt, UCLA and several Big Ten schools," he said. "I also just got an offer from Cincinnati and from Western Michigan a few days ago."
