The Cincinnati (Ohio) area has been good to Michigan State over the years and one young prospect who has high regards for the Spartans is sophomore quarterback Peyton Ramsey. Spartan Digest caught up with Ramsey about his interest in MSU.
During his time coaching at the University of Cincinnati
, Mark Dantonio and his staff recruited and coaches a couple of players from Cincinnati Elder High School coached by head coach Doug Ramsey.
Now, Ramsey has his own son hitting the recruiting circuit after watching his son Peyton Ramsey
finish his sophomore season with 1,957 yards passing (10 TDs / 63% completion) and 552 yards rushing with four scores.
Michigan State has stopped in the school and young Peyton is very interested in the Spartans.
"I have a lot of interest in Michigan State," said Ramsey. "I like everything they are about and I like how their coaches play the game. So they interest me a lot. Coaches like Coach Dantonio that are successful get their players to buy in to what they are doing and that is special to me and the type of place I want to be at."
Unsure where he'll camp this summer, don't be surprised if Ramsey spends a day in East Lansing showing the Spartans what he can do on the field.
