Michigan State used hot shooting and a big early lead to extend its season and head to the Big Ten title game against rival Michigan.
The Spartans shot 65.4 percent in the first half on their way to a 83-75 win against Wisconsin on Saturday.
A 16-2 first-half run, fueled by three consecutive three-point plays, gave them a 37-16 lead – their largest of the game at the 5:39 mark.
Adreian Payne had 12 of his 18 points in the first half and Denzel Valentine had 11 of his 12 points, hitting three 3-pointers.
Every Michigan State starter was in double-figures, as Branden Dawson had 14, Gary Harris had 12 and Keith Appling had 10.
