Beckham Waiting on Spartans

Defensive back prospect Kei Beckham recently visited Michigan State and gives Scout.com the latest news on the Spartans interest.

For Trotwood (Ohio) Madison cornerback Kei Beckham the recruiting process has brought several early scholarship offers. One program not to offer is Big Ten Champion Michigan State, a program Beckham is extremely high on.

"I visited Michigan State a few weeks ago to watch practice," said Beckham. "Coach (Harlon) Barnett said he likes my film and the fact I could play corner or safety in their defense. He said he's going to come and check me out in the spring."

What did Beckham do during his visit?

"I basically watched them practice," he said. "It was good to watch the way they are getting coached and I like the fact they coach their corners to play a lot of man-to-man defense. That is why they are having guys go to the NFL now."

What would an offer from the Spartans mean to the Ohio native?

"It would mean a lot" he said. "I really like Michigan State and to earn an offer would mean an awful lot to me."
