Fitzpatrick has an MSU offer high on his list

Farmington sophomore wide receiver will camp in East Lansing in hopes of securing in-state offer from the Spartans. He talks an offer and his spring game visit last weekend.

Last summer, Farmington (Mich.) wide receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick earned his first offers and he hopes to add more this summer.

One of the offers he hopes most to see come around is from in-state Michigan State.

"An offer from MSU is very high on my list," he said. "I have been working really hard to earn that offer this summer."

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound receiver will be camping in East Lansing on June 1 and hopes that is where the Spartans will pull the trigger.

It is the coaching staff and how the program is heading in a good direction that has Fitzpatrick working hard for the offer.

"I've had a chance to be around the program and it's definitely one of the places I could see myself playing," he said.

The latest chance to be around Michigan State came Saturday, as he visited for the spring game.

"Saturday was perfect, especially the weather," he said. "The game was good and I got a chance to see the offense in action again and study the wide receivers."

He has previously had chances to watch the Spartans wide receivers work in his other visits and saw them being on the in sync last weekend.

"They looked like they were on the same page," he said. "I feel like Michigan State's wide receiver corps is one of the best in the Big Ten."

Now, the rising junior is set to have a busy summer filled with camps beyond just Michigan State's.

"I will be going to Kentucky, Notre Dame, Purdue, Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, Tennessee and Louisville," he said. "We want to get out west to UCLA and USC."
