Damschroder to camp at Michigan State

Ann Arbor Huron tight end looking to impress in East Lansing as he gets into the football camp circuit for the first time.

Chris Damschroder is new to the camp scene, hitting his first one this season two weekends ago, but he will head to Michigan State on Sunday.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Ann Arbor (Mich.) Huron tight end hopes to show the Spartans what he can do there.

"I just want to get a look from the coaches and show them how I match up against other players," he said.

Damschroder played offensive tackle last season for Huron, given the needs of the team, but is moving back to the position he is more comfortable playing.

"I am getting a little bit of rust off," he said," but it hasn't been much of a transition because I played it as a freshman.

"Our team was small last year, so I had to play on the offensive line, but I feel like my skills are good for tight end."

Damschroder also plays lacrosse, and is getting college looks for that sport as well – which he said he loves for the speed and the atmosphere.

"I've been talking to Yale and Dartmouth," he said.
