Ahrens: "I really enjoy it there"

Versailles (Ohio) wing set to take official visit to Michigan State this week, his fourth visit to East Lansing.

Versailles (Ohio) wing Kyle Ahrens already has made a few visits to East Lansing, but is excited for his official visit Wednesday and Thursday.

"I really like it there and I think I fit in really well," Ahrens said. "Coach (Tom) Izzo has been calling me quite a bit and he just shows they really want me.

"I really enjoy it there. I'm really excited to visit again."

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound soon-to-be senior checked out East Lansing three times in his recruitment thus far, with this week's marking the fourth.

"The first one, I went for a football game.," Ahrens said. "I went up and played in the gym with them. The other two I went up for basketball games."

He was offered last October by the Spartans before breaking both his fibula and tibia in his left leg in December.

Now, he is eying a summer decision and hopes to have his recruitment wrapped up before he starts his senior year. Michigan State is in his top three right now, with a pair of Ohio schools marking the other two.

"The other two schools on my list I am looking at are Dayton and Xavier and I have not set up an official with them yet," he said.
