Camp season paid off last week for Dublin (Ohio) Coffman quarterback Gunnar Hoak.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound junior landed his first offer last Thursday from in-state Toledo to kick off a busy camp weekend.
"I was pretty excited (about the offer)," Hoak said. "It was a great feeling."
At MSU, he was shown around by a current Spartan and felt the camp went well.
"Chris Frey Jr, I know him because he went to UA and I played against him," he said. "He showed me around a little bit. He showed me in between the facilities and the school stuff..
Of all the parts of the camp in East Lansing, Hoak said he felt he showed the best in the one on one portion.
"I think I threw pretty good," Hoak said. "I didn't run badly, I think I could have done better. I think I threw the best. …
"They thought I did pretty good and they told me I should keep in touch with them definitely."
Hoak also is hearing from Illinois, Pitt and Ohio and will wrap up the camp season later this week.
"I think I am going to finish up on Thursday the 19th at Ohio State," he said.
