Tucky appreciates honest feedback at ND
Notre Dame hosted 2016 four-star outside linebacker Ethan Tucky of Delaware (Ohio) Rutherford B. Hayes twice in the past month. Tucky first visited Notre Dame on June 9 and returned for team camp on June 24. "It was great," Tucky said. "I got a campus tour, and on my second visit, I was able to connect more with the coaching staff. That's why I like visits better not on game days because you can spend more quality time with the coaches getting to know them." "Campus was beautiful," Tucky added. "It really stands out and is tops among the schools I've visited. You can't beat the history and tradition Notre Dame has. Not many schools have that stuff." Tucky said he was able to establish a solid relationship with Irish outside linebacker coach Bob Elliott. "Coach Elliott told me Notre Dame would love to utilize my speed," Tucky said. "He said I have the potential to fit well into Notre Dame's system because I'm not a big, bulky linebacker. He said I could also transform to Mike (linebacker), but right now Sam and Will are looking good." "He also said he really liked my motor and hustle. He said you can't always teach that, but it shows through on my film." The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker also spoke with Elliott about where he stands with an offer. "He said that he wants to see a few games from me in the fall," Tucky said. "He wants to see me play outside linebacker in a game because I've mostly played defensive end. Once he sees that, he said he's likely going to be all over me." "I feel like the coaching staff is very honest with me. Some coaching staffs I feel like they're just telling me what I want to hear, but not Notre Dame. They're great guys." Tucky camped at four other schools in June, including Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin. He has offers from Boston College, Eastern Michigan and Toledo. Tucky is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 25 outside linebacker in the class of 2016.
