The Gophers held their junior elite one day camp on Sunday and some of the attendees walked away with Minnesota offers. Mayer (MN.) Lutheran junior offensive tackle Sam Schlueter was one of those top performers, who put on a show at the camp and offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover took notice to eventually pull the trigger on an offer. The in-state lineman discusses his Gopher offer.
“Coach Limegrover came up to me and my parents and told me the news,” Schlueter told GopherDigest. “We then got to talk to him and the other coaches and I was very excited when I got the offer! They have always been on top of my list with me being in-state and I’m looking forward to learn more. They are definitely taking big steps to getting better as an overall team and I really like the coaches.”
Not only did the 6-6, 265-pound physical tackle make it for camp, but he was at the BBQ on Saturday. Overall, he gave the Gophers high remarks on his weekend, but isn’t quite ready to end his recruitment just yet.
"The BBQ was awesome," said Schlueter. "It was nice to see all of the other recruits at the BBQ and I enjoyed the camp. I didn’t think of committing just yet since I’m still young, but I think I have to look into to it more and more about Minnesota as a school and look into other schools."
