Indispensable Spartan No. 10

SpartanDigest takes a look at the most indispensable players for Michigan State this season. No. 10 brings a junior wide receiver hoping to break out -- which the Spartans would gladly welcome.

Aaron Burbridge

The Details

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 201 pounds

Position: Wide receiver

2013 season

After a solid freshman campaign in which he played as a true freshman, Burbridge took a step back in 2013. He was limited by a hamstring injury for past of the season and never really had a splash or jump in his sophomore season like many were hoping for. He was expected to be the No. 1 receiver by most, but ended the season with just 22 catches for 194 yards and 62 rushing yards on four attempts.

Breakdown

The second wide receiver on this list, Burbridge is key to the Spartans passing attack. Bennie Fowler filled the No. 1 role well last year and that role will surely fall to Tony Lippett this season. From a physical skills standpoint, though, Burbridge is as talented as any receiver Michigan State has on its roster. There is plenty of talent across the board from Lippett to R.J. Shelton to MacGarrett Kings on down, but if the Spartans want the passing game to take it to the next level, Burbridge should be the key. Reports this preseason camp are glowing about the junior and that bodes well for him heading into this season.

No. 15 Lawrence Thomas

No. 14 Mike Sadler

No. 13 R.J. Shelton

No. 12 Travis Jackson

No. 11 Marcus Rush
