Tony Lippett

The Details

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 185 pounds

Position: Wide receiver

2013 season

A year after the wide receiver corps struggled as a whole at Michigan State, Lippett emerged as a solid player opposite Bennie Fowler. He led the team with 44 receptions, having two touchdowns on the year, but both were big as they came on the two biggest stages for the Spartans.

Lippett enters the season as the No. 1 wide receiver and will be called upon to be the leader of that group. His development along with Fowler’s last year was as important to the success of the offense as the emergence of Connor Cook and Jeremy Langford. Now, he is the senior after Fowler graduated and it is his responsibility to help usher the growth of the group. After finishing with big touchdowns in both the Big Ten Championship Game and Rose Bowl, it figures to be a nice senior campaign for Lippett. He will open the season as the go-to and the reliable target that Cook will look for to get the ball rolling again.
