Barrow: Visit "furthered my love" for MSU

Tampa Catholic junior defensive end makes second visit to Michigan State this year, eyeing a visit to another Big Ten school

Michigan State already has one player from Tampa Catholic on its roster in freshman T.J. Harrell and it hosted another Crusader last weekend.

Junior defensive end Malik Barrow, who holds a Michigan State offer, was on campus for the Spartans’ 27-22 win against Nebraska.

”I had a great time and I got to see all the coaches again and I got to see T.J.,” Barrow said. “I hadn’t seen him a while, ever since he left.

”I had a good time. The atmosphere was great.”

The visit gave Barrow a chance to catch up with Harrell, who he said had lots of good things to say about the school.

“He told me he loves it, so that’s a good thing,” Barrow said. “I wanted to hear from him personally about how he likes it. He told me good things about it and he really loves it up there.

”I like it, too, especially now I got to see a game atmosphere.”

It was Barrow’s second visit this year, as he also was on campus earlier in the summer for camp. He said the highlight was seeing the game atmosphere, but the whole trip increased his interest in Michigan State.

“It furthered my love for the school,” he said. “I like it even more now.”

He left with a good impression of the way Michigan State’s defense plays, particularly the defensive line, after his first game visit this fall.

He has another one in mind to another Big Ten school.

“I haven’t really been to any schools other than Michigan State, but I stop by USF sometimes because it’s right up the street,” he said. “I’m planning to go to Ohio State’s game against Michigan.”
