Stewart commits to Spartans

Houston Nimitz wide receiver makes three from Texas for Michigan State in 2015

Michigan State has not had much luck in Texas in recent years, but hit with a third verbal commitment in the class of 2015 on Sunday night.

Houston Nimitz wide receiver Darrell Stewart made his commitment to the Spartans after taking an official visit this weekend to East Lansing.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver flipped his commitment from Boise State, something that had been expected for a while, according to sources.

Stewart joins West Mesquite cornerback Josh Butler and Houston Kinkaid offensive lineman Tyler Higby as players from Texas in the class.

He joins Highland Springs (Va.) commit Felton Davis as wide receiver commits in the class. He brings the class to 15 total members.
