Signing Day Capsule: Khari Willis

Jackson Lumen Christi defensive back liked Michigan State from the start and committed at camp over the summer

Khari Willis – Jackson (Mich) Lumen Christi Safety

Height, weight: 6-foot, 180 pounds

Commitment Date: June 14, 2014

Why Michigan State: "The coaches and the philosophy and how they do things. I think I have a good chance to be successful over there."

The Skinny

Willis has excelled at running back at Jackson Lumen Christi, posting huge numbers throughout his career and bursting onto the recruiting scene as a junior.

Michigan State extended an offer pretty early and it was a hard one to beat from the onset, as Willis liked Michigan State already.

While he made his name as a running back and linebacker at Lumen Christi, he is expected to start off in the secondary at Michigan State as he learns to play safety.

With learning a new position, a redshirt is likely for Willis, but he should be a hard worker that fights to get on the field down the road.
