Signing Day Capsule: L.J. Scott

The headliner of the Michigan State recruiting class should see the field early at running back for the Spartans.

L.J. Scott – Hubbard (Ohio) Running Back

Height, weight: 6-foot-1, 227 pounds

Commitment Date: July 10, 2014

Why Michigan State: "It's the right school for me because I fit well into their family atmosphere. Everything is just awesome about their program, and that's basically why I chose them."

The Skinny

Scott is the crown jewel of the MSU recruiting class in every sense. He was the most high profile recruit and also figures to have the biggest impact as a true freshman.

The Hubbard (Ohio) running back committed to MSU back in the summer, spurning Ohio State in the process. He has stuck with the Spartans since then.

Scott brings a punishing running style with a stellar combination of speed and moves. The Le’Veon Bell comps are thrown around quite a bit for understandable reasons.

With no clear cut starter at running back, Scott should get a look in fall camp.
