Signing Day Capsule: Darrell Stewart

Houston (Texas) Nimitz wide receiver has the speed and quickness to be a future factor as the Spartans will need wide receivers in a couple seasons

Darrell Stewart – Houston (Texas) Nimitz Wide Receiver

Height, weight: 6-foot-1, 190 pounds

Commitment Date: November 23, 2014

The Skinny

Stewart hails from the same high school as MSU wide receivers coach Terry Samuel and was a target for Samuel – who recruits Texas.

He made it three commits from Texas for Michigan State in the class. He also addressed a need at wide receiver as he paired with Felton Davis to form a potentially strong one-two punch.

Stewart’s game is shifty and speed and at 6-1, he could be quite a tough cover. He is quick and he is slippery. With those skills, he should be an important piece down the road.

As was the case with Davis, his contributions seem more likely in a couple years opposed to immediately as MSU is deep at wide receiver with a lot of upperclassmen.
