Three get Big Ten honors for Michigan State

The Spartans "Big Three" for the season all earn all-conference honors Monday night, led by Branden Dawson.

On Monday, the trio of Branden Dawson, Travis Trice and Denzel Valentine all received Big Ten honors.

The senior Dawson earned his first Big Ten honors, being named to the All-Defensive Team and earning second-team honors both from the coaches and the media. Dawson is averaging a Big Ten-best 9.3 rebounds per game in addition to 11.6 points per game.

Trice and Valentine both were named to the All-Big Ten third team.

Trice leads the Spartans with 14.8 points per game and 5.4 assists per game. Valentine is second on the Spartans with 14.5 points per game. He also is second with 6.1 rebounds per game and 4.2 assists per game.

Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky, Ohio State's D'Angelo Russell, Iowa's Aaron White and Indiana's Yogi Ferrell were first-team selections by the coaches and media. Maryland's Dez Wells was first team for the coaches, while the Terps freshman Melo Trimble was named first team by the media.
