Kings, Williams "in limbo," Dantonio says

Michigan State opens spring ball Tuesday with the pair of players missing from the depth chart after recent legal issues

Michigan State opens spring football Tuesday and a pair of steady contributors last season are not on the roster.

Neither senior wide receiver MacGarrett Kings nor junior running back Delton Williams was on the depth chart after getting in recent trouble with the law.

”Anybody not on our depth chart is sort of in limbo,” Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said.

Kings was arrested early in the morning on Feb. 28 and charged with drunken and disorderly conduct and obstructing, resisting, hindering or assaulting a police offer. Dantonio said the situation would be handled internally.

Williams was “suspended indefinitely from all team-related activities” after he was arrested and charged with brandishing a firearm in public, in what was described as a road rage incident.

Williams was in line to be in the mix to start at running back after the departure of Jeremy Langford. Sophomore Gerald Holmes and redshirt freshman Madre London were listed at the top of the depth chart at running back Tuesday.
