Matt Bockhorst Ready To See Michigan State

Coming off a visit to Louisville that earned him a scholarship offer, Matt Bockhorst heads next to Michigan State to learn more about the Spartans.

A planned visit to Michigan State on Thursday is one Cincinnati St. Xavier 2017 offensive lineman Matt Bockhorst is excited about.

“Michigan State is a school I can honestly say I don’t know much about,” said Bockhorst. “I’m excited to get up there as I’ve been talking with Coach (Harlon) Barnett since he visited school and have stayed in weekly contact with him for a couple of months now as I try to build a relationship and we get to know each other.”

What does the 6-foot-4, 290-pound sophomore hope to accomplish during his on campus visit?

“What I’m looking to get out of this visit is a chance to meet Coach (Mark) Staten and hopefully Coach (Mark) Dantonio,” he said. “I don’t know if I’ll get a full fledge tour, but this will give me my initial impressions of Michigan State.

“Geographically they are close to home and have been a program that has always been in the back of my mind with them being in the state of Michigan and having St. Xavier alum Trey Kilgore there. So there is a lot of upside to Michigan State.”
