Recruiting has been steady for Leipsic (Ohio) offensive lineman Gavin Cupp as the 6-foot-5, 275-pound athletic lineman has seen programs like Illinois, Cincinnati along with a handful of Mid American Conference programs offer.
One program Cupp has shown high interest in has been Michigan State. Tuesday night, Cupp added the Spartans to his list.
“There is so much weight off my shoulders now,” Cupp said by text message. “I really like Michigan State and have always walked away when taking visits to MSU very happy and pleased. It means a lot to have this opportunity.”
Spartan Digest will have more with Cupp on Wednesday about his latest offer and interest in the Spartans.
Cupp is a physical player who plays on both sides of the ball at Leipsic. However, we see a high level offensive lineman as he’s a natural bender with solid feet and the ability to engage and use his physical strength to keep defenders at bay. Some technique work is needed as he plays high at times, but all the physical skills are there for a high level player.
