“Michigan State was actually really cool. It was a great experience. I loved it, I am going back in mid-June,” Fox said.
There was one thing that stuck out to Fox the most -- and that was the time he spent with the coaching staff.
“My favorite part was definitely the family atmosphere. And the humbleness of the coaches,” Fox said. “I was able to speak and get tips from Coach Dantonio. The coaches were really laid back.”
The Spartans staff was very helpful to Fox, and gave him advice on where to go next in the recruiting process.
“Coach Burton told me to make sure I come back for camp, and they told me they would be recruiting me as a linebacker not a defensive end,” Fox said.
The 6-foot, 215-pound athlete played defensive line for Rita up until now, and is making the transition to linebacker. He saw a lot from the Spartans defense that made him excited about the transition to linebacker.
“I like their speed oriented defense. They also seem to run many schemes, which is my favorite thing to do on defense. Plus, I like the aggressiveness of the corners when the press the receivers,” Fox said.
He added, “And in terms of linebackers I like how they are packed into the box which shuts down a run offense.”
