Dotson Looking Forward To Seeing Spartans

One of the top prospects in Ohio for the 2017 recruiting class is looking forward to learning more about Michigan State. Spartan Digest checks with tight end Matt Dotson about his interest in the Spartans.

The recruiting clock has accelerated for Cincinnati Moeller junior tight end Matt Dotson with offers from Tennessee, Ohio State, Illinois and Cincinnati. However, there is another program Dotson is looking forward to seeing more.

“I've been talking with Coach (Jim) Bollman about once a week or every other week,” said Dotson. “I've been calling him and he said he really likes what he sees and that he's finishing the 2016 class and is starting on the 2017 class. He said I'm one of the guys and that they just need to get my up there for a visit cause they feel I could be a good fit up at Michigan State.”

Dotson is looking forward to making several visits with Michigan State on the calendar this fall.

“I'm definitely going to be taking my time and really take this recruiting process seriously,” he said. “I really want to see what each school has and plan on going to games at Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Notre Dame.”

Dotson knows there are a few familiar faces in East Lansing and plans to stay with one current Spartan when he visits.

“When I go up to Michigan State, I'll be staying with Monty Madaris,” he said. “I've hung around Monty before a couple of times. So it will be nice to know there is someone up there that I can talk too and be honest and talk with them on what really goes on.”

Spartan Digest will continue to track the Spartans interest in Dotson in the coming weeks and months.
