R.J. Shelton Named To Paul Hornung Watch List

The Louisville Sports Commission released the 2015 Paul Hornung Award Watch List this week with Michigan State junior wide receiver/kick returner R.J. Shelton named to the list.

Michigan State junior R.J. Shelton earned a spot on the 2015 Paul Hornung Watch list along with 43 of college footballs top players.

Now in its sixth season, The Paul Hornung Award is one of the top honors a major college football player can earn.

The award, which is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung is sponsored by Texas Roadhouse.

The 2015 list was compiled by a group of football experts based on the combination of 2014 statistics, career performance and recommendations by sports information directors with expectations heading into the 2015 season.

Last season Shelton played in 13 games, including two starts and ranked third on the Spartans in all-purposed yards with 1,114.

Last year University of Washington's Shaq Thompson was awarded the honor and this year the winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award Banquet to be held at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville in February 2016.
