Michigan State Grants Justin Williams Release

Michigan State sophomore defensive back Justin Williams has been granted his release from the Spartans football program.

Third-year defensive back Justin Williams has been granted his release from Michigan State according to published reports and confirmed by the universities sports information department.

Williams entered preseason camp third on the depth-chart at boundary corner behind Demetrious Cox and Vayante Copeland.

When signed out of Port St. Lucie (Fla.) Treasure Coast High School, Williams showed a lot of speed on the field playing on both sides of the ball. However, he only held two other Power Five offers besides the one extended by the Spartans.

No reason has been given as for the reason Williams asked for his release, but with the plethora of talent arriving from the 2015 class, Williams might have felt his chances of breaking the top of the depth-chart out of reach.
