Brian Allen Enjoys Chasing Success

Michigan State sophomore offensive lineman Brian Allen has seen early success in his college football career. Allen spoke with Spartan Digest at the Spartans recent media dad about his game, his brother and chasing after success.

How do you follow up a freshman season that saw you earn four first letter as a true freshman, take 316 snaps and have people call you an All-American?

You don't stop and keep working to show people your success was no fluke.

That is the life for Michigan State offensive lineman Brian Allen as he enters his second year in the Spartans program with what many feel is the best offensive line Mark Dantonio has enjoyed since arriving in East Lansing.

Spartan Digest spoke with Allen about his success and what is the secret used by the Allen family to have such success on the football field.

PRIOR TO MSU

Was named a U.S. Army All-American and captain of the East squad. Three year starter atHinsdale Central High School where he played on both the offensive and defensive lines. Won four state medals in wrestling winning a championship his junior season.

SINCE ARRIVING AT MSU

Named a first-team Freshman All-America by the Football Writers Association of American and Scout. Also earned an spot on the Big Ten Network Big Ten All-Freshman Team. Played both guard spots and center his first season and also took snaps on special teams. Entered preseason camp as the starting left guard which will allow him to line up next to his older brother Jack Allen who is a fifth-year Spartan this fall.
