Spartan Digest and Scout have an exclusive look at Cleveland (Ohio) Benedictine four-star wide receiver Justin Layne, who has given a verbal commitment to Michigan State.
In this 60-second, exclusive Spotlight video, you'll see firsthand what makes Layne one of the top receivers in the Midwest –- and you'll learn what he's like off the field, who he models his game after and his aspirations after his college football career.
Layne played both football and basketball, and was a leader and winner in both sports. The athleticism he shows on the basketball court helps him at wide receiver. Layne also has the height and leaping ability to go up and over the defenders. Although not a true burner, Layne runs great routes and has a long, smooth stride that lets him get on top of defensive backs quickly. He cuts extremely well, and runs crisp routes. Layne also has the ability to go over the middle and make the tough catches. The size and leaping ability makes him a great red zone target, and he is a tough matchup in one-on-one situations.
