Michigan State senior wide receiver Aaron Burbridge set career highs with eight receptions for 156 yards and three touchdowns in the Spartans 35-21 victory over Air Force.
Burbridge, who is from Harrison (Mich.) Farmington High School, is off to a great start and becoming a go-to target for quarterback Connor Cook early this season.
This is the first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award of his career and it’s been almost two seasons since the last Spartan earned the honor when Jeremy Langford in October of 2013.
Saturday, Burbridge scored on receptions from 28, 32 and 21 yards and seven of his eight catches resulted in first downs or touchdowns.
After three games Burbridge has 20 receptions for 374 yards and four touchdowns with an average of 18.7 yards per catch and 124.7 yards per game.
The Spartans next host Central Michigan at Spartan Stadium with a noon kickoff.
