Michigan State ends non-conference play with a 4-0 record and No. 2 ranking in both the AP and Coaches College Football Polls.

Michigan State stayed at the No. 2 spot in the Associated Press College Football Poll and also moved up in the Coaches Poll to the same position. Here is a look at the AP Top 25 for Week Five of the 2015 college football season.

Despite what many considered an ugly 30-10 win over Central Michigan on Saturday afternoon, Michigan State remained at the No. 2 spot in the Week Five Associated Press College Football Poll.

The Spartans are now 4-0 on the season as they head into Big Ten Conference play and remain behind conference foe Ohio State who remains in the No. 1 spot in the poll.  The Spartans did lose some points in the poll this week as last week they had received 1415 points and this week only 1397 points to go with five first place votes.

Mark Dantonio’s team also moved up in the Coaches Poll to the No. 2 spot after being the third ranked team a week ago.

Michigan State opens Big Ten play on Saturday afternoon against Purdue in Spartan Stadium.
