Grayson Miller Starts Own Spartan Legacy

As the son of a former Michigan State Spartan standout, Grayson Miller grew up hearing stories from his father about his time wearing the Green and White. Now the younger Miller will have his own stories to tell at family get togethers following his role in the Spartans miracle win over Michigan.

Freshman safety Grayson Miller was already having a great week prior to Michigan State’s magical win over rival Michigan as he learned early in the week he had earned the first start of his Spartan career.

A Spartan legacy, Miller grew up hearing stories from his father John about his time at MSU that saw the elder Miller earn All-Big Ten honors as a safety (1987-88) and being a captain his senior season.

In a career that spanned the years 1985-88, John Miller earn a 17-11 victory over rival Michigan in 1987.  But son Grayson has equaled that one win in his first season as a Spartan and played a key role in a play that will go down in the history books of Michigan State football.

Not only did Miller come up big in the final play of the game, he also played a solid game overall with six tackles that included one for a loss.  But that final play will be one he tells his children and grandchildren about in the years to come.
