Michigan State running back Gerald Holmes knows all too well success as a Spartan is about waiting until your name is called.

Success is not promised when you sign on to play football at Michigan State. Spartans running back Gerald Holmes knows all too well that if the coaches call on you to perform that you better step up your game and be ready.

Against Indiana, Gerald Holmes played extremly well on special teams while also rushing 10 times for 39 yards and one touchdown.  Holmes also showed his versatility by catching two Connor Cook passes for another 28 yards in the Spartans 52-26 victory over the Hoosiers.

After the game Holmes spoke with members of the media and stressed the importance of being ready when you hear the coaches call your name.
