Cincinnati Colerain junior defensive back Amir Riep talks about his Saturday visit to Michigan State to see the Spartans play Indiana.

Cincinnati Colerain 2017 defensive back Amir Riep could be on the verge of getting an offer from Michigan State. Saturday, Riep returned to Spartan Stadium for the second time this season and talks about his visit with Spartan Digest.

Saturday saw Class of 2017 four-star cornerback Amir Riep make a return visit to Michigan State.  The 6-foot-1, 180-pound product out of Cincinnati Colerain High School visited the Spartans when they played Oregon early in the season and Saturday’s return visit was encouraged by the Spartans coaching staff.

“Coach (Harlon) Barnett and the other coaches that work in the recruiting office really wanted me to come back up so they could get me in front of Coach (Mark) Dantonio,” said Riep.  “It was really nice and exciting to see them get another win and I feel real comfortable at Michigan State.”

What did the Spartans coaching staff say to Riep?

“I spoke with Coach Barnett and some of the other members of the recruiting staff,” he said.  “I also got a chance to go out to midfield to and meet Coach Dantonio and speak with him with a few other recruits.

“He said he was excited about me coming back up and that he was looking forward to watching my film with Coach Barnett and that I could hear something soon from them.”

With the Spartans on the road Riep has been told he can expect the Spartans to make a stop at school sometime this week or for his final regular season game this Friday.  What would an offer from the Spartans mean to him?

“I get a real good feel about Michigan State each time I’ve been up there,” he said.  “They have a great atmosphere in their stadium and I like how they coach their defensive backs.  So an offer from them would be exciting as they are a top program.”
