Who did Spartan Digest name as bye week most valuable players? We have three Spartans on our list.

Michigan State is enjoying a bye week after starting the season with a perfect 8-0 record. Spartan Digest will use this time to take a look back at the previous eight weeks of Spartan football and give you our thoughts on who have been the most valuable Spartans so far.

Who have been the Spartans MVP’s so far this season?

Is there any question senior quarterback Connor Cook is the Spartans Offensive MVP so far this season.  Cook is hitting on just over 57-percent of his throws with 2,070 yards and 17 touchdowns with only 2 interceptions.

While you have to look hard at senior defensive end Shilique Calhoun and his 8 sacks, the player that is the Spartans stats leader, emotional leader and overall best defender has been junior linebacker Riley Bullough who leads the Spartans with 67 total tackles and 5 and a half tackles for loss.

Jalen Watts-Jackson  has only posted five tackles on the stat sheet.  But when he found the Michigan botched punt in his hands, he wasted little time in racing towards the end zone giving the Spartans a magical win over rival Michigan.
