Cincinnati Moeller junior tight end Matt Dotson talks about his new scholarship offer from Michigan State.

Cincinnati Moeller has been a very good school for Mark Dantonio over the years and the Spartans are hoping they can pull out another Crusader standout in junior tight end Matt Dotson. Spartan Digest spoke with Dotson about his newest scholarship offer.

Can Michigan State and Mark Dantonio pull another top player out of Cincinnati Moeller High School?

While the Spartans are expected to sign kicker Matthew Coghlin in February, 2017 tight end Matt Dotson will be their next target going forward after Dotson added an offer from the Spartans.

“I called Coach (Harlon) Barnett and we were just talking and he said they were officially offering me,” explained Dotson.  “He said that after Coach (Mark) Dantonio watched a few plays, he said he wanted to offer.  So he gave the phone to Coach Dantonio and we talked for awhile.  He explained it was still pretty early for them to offer me, but they were offering.  He also talked about the players they have and who is coming in.”

Already holding several impressive offers, Dotson has yet to visit East Lansing.

“I’ve never been up there,” he said.  “But I’m thinking about going up for the Penn State game.  If I can’t make it up for that game, I’ll be looking to make it up for a visit.

“I know Michigan State definitely uses their tight ends very well and I have good interest in them.  I was planning to make a trip up there even before they offered to check them out, but this moves that up a little bit.”
