Key battle between Michigan State's O-Line and Ohio State's D-Line will play a major role in the outcome Saturday's big match-up.

The battle between the Michigan State offensive line and Ohio State defensive line could be one of the best in all of college football. We look at the match-up between the men in the trenches and what the Spartans must do to get an advantage.

This will be one of the marquee match-up of the game led by Buckeye defensive end Joey Bosa.  Bosa can line-up over either tackle or even more down inside if needed.  He’s also been seen lined up as an standup linebacker.

While we expect Bosa to line up more over top of Kodi Kieler, the chance to see Bosa and Jack Conklin battle could be worth the price of admission.

Inside could be a little different story as the Buckeyes will bring Adolphus Washington and Tommy Schutt against Jack AllenBenny McGowan or Brian Allen and Donavon Clark.

Washington against McGowan or Brian Allen gives the Buckeyes an advantage.  But with help from Jack Allen, MSU can slow down Washington.  We feel MSU has an advantage when it comes to Clark going against Schutt as the fifth-year senior has the ability to handle Schutt one-on-one.  The question will be how many times Clark will be asked to help with Bosa leaving Jack Allen against Schutt.

If the Spartans can keep all five offensive line starters on the field the entire game, they’ll have a chance to slow down the Buckeyes front four.  Will they stop them?  No, there is too much talent to totally shut down the Buckeyes core group of defensive linemen.

Jack Allen spoke about the upcoming battle on Tuesday.

“I would say it’s going to be a huge challenge,” said Allen.  “They have a very impressive defensive front, but at the same time I think we’re starting to click on the “O” line and we’re coming together, and we’ve gone through a lot of adversity together, and this is just going to be another challenge for us, and we’re excited about it.”
