Junior wide receiver Cody White talks about giving Michigan State his pledge on Wednesday night.

Wednesday night saw wide receiver Cody White end his recruitment with a quick pledge to Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State Spartans. Spartan Digest caught up with White for more on his pledge.

An on campus visit with the Michigan State Spartans on Tuesday led to a Wednesday night commitment from Walled Lake (Mich.) Western wide receiver Cody White.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound receiver was excited about his news when he contacted Spartan Digest about becoming a Spartan.

“Michigan State was the best fit for me,” said White.  “I have been on their recruiting list since my freshman year and have taken several unofficial visits there.  I’m very familiar with what they have to offer and am comfortable with my decision.”

White knows he ended the process early, but feels he investigated those he was interested in the most.

“I didn’t get to all of the schools that offered me,” he explained.  “But I made it to several of them and there were a lot of great schools for a lot of different reasons.  But Michigan State had everything I needed.

“Coach (Mark) Dantonio was excited about my commitment and the recruiting process was not a big issue for me as I liked researching the schools.

“I am looking forward to continuing to work hard and improve my game from here.”

White becomes the first member of the Spartans 2017 recruiting class and is currently a three-star prospect on Scout.
