Four-star defensive back Amir Riep talks about getting back to Michigan State for a visit.

It has been a long time coming, but Cincinnati Colerain four-star defensive back Amir Riep is ready to get back to Michigan State.

Multiple plans to get Cincinnati Colerain four-star defensive back Amir Riep back on the Michigan State campus have been canceled over the past few months.

Riep, who is a priority prospect for the Spartans is ready to get back on campus Thursday.

“We were to go up there two time already,” said Riep.  “But Coach (Mark) Dantonio was not going to be there and they didn’t want us to waste our time with him not being there.  They have practice on Thursday, so I’m excited to get up there and learn more about them.”

The Spartans joined Riep’s offer parade early in the process and while he’s lost count of how many offers that have been extended, Michigan State remains a program of high interest.

“I’m still really high on Michigan State,” he said.  “I’ve not really looked at cutting down my offer list.  But Michigan State has been very high on my list since before the recruiting process even started.”

One thing that could help the Spartans is the relationship being built between Riep and Spartans Co-defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett.

“I’ve been talking with Coach Barnett over the past several months,” he said.  “I look forward to seeing him work with his players during practice.  We talked a short time ago and he said he’s excited to get me back on campus.”
