Ohio offensive lineman Matt Carrick became the sixth member of Michigan State's 2017 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon.

Ohio offensive lineman Matt Carrick gives Michigan State his verbal pledge making him the sixth member of the Spartans 2017 recruiting class.

Massillon (Ohio) Perry junior offensive lineman Matt Carrick told Spartan Digest he was impressed by what he saw out of Michigan State on a recent on campus visit.  Wednesday, Carrick wasted little time in officially putting out his intentions on Twitter that he’d given Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State Spartans his verbal pledge.

Carrick, at 6-foot-4, 280-pounds already shows a strong skill set for a young offensive lineman with his athletic ability.  While there are still some areas of technique to be worked on, Carrick has all the tools to become a high level player during his college career as he plays with a nasty streak and can move in space.

Carrick becomes the sixth member of the Spartans 2017 recruiting class with the Spartans looking to add more this weekend during the annual Green-White Spring Game.
