After watching only Jack Conklin being selected in the first-round and Shilique Calhoun being selected in the third-round, Saturday saw three more Michigan State Spartans fulfill their NFL dream when Connor Cook, Aaron Burbridge and Donavon Clark saw teams call their names.
Cook, who left Michigan State as the programs all-time winning quarterback, had to watch as other quarterbacks got their named called before his. Finally, the Oakland Raiders made Cook the 100-th overall selection in the fourth-round.
Wide receiver Aaron Burbridge had to wait longer until the San Francisco 49ers selected him in the sixth round (No. 213 overall). Burbridge was the 2015 Richter-Howard Big Ten Receiver of the Year after leading the conference with 85 receptions and 1,258 receiving yards.
Donavon Clark became the second Spartan offensive lineman to be selected in the draft when the San Diego Chargers selected the two-year starter in the seventh round.
