#50 Auston Robertson
The Michigan State Spartans will need help along the defensive front four and because of this we’ve added incoming freshman Auston Robertson to our list. While it is still an unknown if Robertson will be in a position to even take the field during the season as he was forced to delay signing with the Spartans as he took care of academic and off field issues, if the talented Robertson is able to dress there is a chance he could push for reps in a defensive front that suffered some serious departures in the past few months.
Scout kept Robertson ranked as a Four-Star defensive end and the No. 107-th player in the country overall despite issues that saw his senior year cut short. It was not until late March that Robertson official became a member of the Spartans recruiting class as Mark Dantonio and his staff made sure all was right on and off the field with the 6-foot-4, 262-pound defensive end.
WHY HE MADE THE COUNTDOWN
This pick is very simple as will be a few more of our picks. As stated above the Spartans are in need of players to step forward along the defensive front. Robertson has the physical size to be on the field and you would hope his summer conditioning will have him set to compete. The question will remain where does Robertson stand academically for the upcoming season. If he’s fully eligible to play, he will be given a chance to earn early reps.null
