We continue to look at the 52 Michigan State Spartans to watch during the 2016 college football season.

To remember one of the best Michigan State squads, Spartan Digest brings you Spartan 52 for 2016. Why “52”? To remember the 1952 team coached by Clarence Lester “Biggie” Munn that went 9-0 winning a National Championship by being voted No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches’ polls. Munn was also named the AFCA Coach of the Year. So to start our official countdown to the season we announce the 52 most important Spartans for 2016. We continue with #43 Byron Bullough.

#43 Byron Bullough

The Michigan State Spartans legacy runs deep within the Bullough family and for the youngest member of the First Family of Spartan football it's just a matter of when he'll step out of the shadows and take his spot on the field. Depth at the linebacker spot is deep and many feel the youngest Bullough made some great strides during the spring.  However, the climb will be a hard one with so much talent ahead of him.

Bullough earned a letter for his work during the 2015 season having played in nine games.  Much was learned by the youngster and his best football is ahead of him.

Bullough will be on special teams and have an impact in this area more than what will be expected out of him as a linebacker.  It would take multiple injuries to push him forward at the MIKE backer spot, but we’re confident if called upon, he’d respond better than most.
