Amir Riep is looking at three schools as he gets closer to making his college decision in late July.

Scout four-star cornerback Amir Riep is looking at making a college decision in late July. As the Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain standout gets ready to head out to The Opening, he gave Spartan Digest the latest.

Thursday night Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain cornerback Amir Riep spoke with Spartan Digest about what his plans are for the next month.

“I’m looking forward to the trip out to The Opening,” said Riep.  “As of right now, I’m still looking to make my commitment on July 23rd, my birthday."

While many had Riep down to two teams, Ohio State and Michigan State.  Reip stressed a third team is also in the running with plans to make a round of visits prior to his announcement.

“Right now the plan is for me to visit Alabama with my dad on July 17th,” he said.  “I’ve been talking with my dad and that is when we’re looking to visit there.  It is not set in stone but that is what we've talked about.  I was trying to get up to Michigan State the past few weeks but the timing didn’t work out.  I traded some messages on Twitter with Coach (Mark) Dantonio last week and he had plans to go out of town.  So when I get back from The Opening, I’ll look to go back up to Michigan State."

Riep had also been thinking of visiting Ohio State for their Friday Night Lights event in July.  However, he is now unsure if the trip will happen.

“Right now, I’m not really sure if I’ll go to Ohio State for Friday Night Lights,” he said.
