#30 Shane Jones
In many programs Jones would be a starter. However, at Michigan State he just happens to be behind Riley Bullough. Jones understands waiting your turn coming from one of the power high schools in the country Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller. This has served him well since his arrival in East Lansing.
Jones posted 23 tackles in 13 games last season. However, his real gift to the program was his play on special teams where he was second with nine tackles. Jones understands he's there to take quality snaps when Bullough needs a play off. He also knows he must make the most of each snap he gets.
WHY HE MADE THE COUNTDOWN
Jones is a quality player who could start for several programs. However, he fully understands he needs to be ready to take the field when called upon. Last season was just the start of what should be two more years of quality play as he's a member of one of the best linebacker groups in the Big Ten.
