Riley Bullough and Malik McDowell have been named to the Bednarik Watch List for the 2016 college football season.

Michigan State placed two players on the famed Bednarik Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced.

The Michigan State Spartans placed senior linebacker Riley Bullough and junior defensive lineman Malik McDowell on the 90-player Bednarik Watch List released by the Maxwell Football Club.

Bullough is coming off his first season as a starter leading the Spartans defense with a career-high 106 tackles as the MSU won the Big Ten Championship.

McDowell enjoyed a breakout season as a sophomore and enters his junior year having played in 27 games with 15 consecutive starts while posting 56 career tackles, including 17 for losses and 6 sacks.

The award is named in honor of Chuck Bednarik and semifinalists for the Bednarik Award will be announced on October 31st with three finalist named on November 21st and the winner announced at the Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 8th in Atlanta, Georgia.
