#22 Delton Williams
The roller coaster ride Williams was on in 2015 didn’t allow him to be a major part of the Spartans on the field. But he held onto doing the right things working his way on the field playing in nine games. While Williams has seen others take his place on the depth chart at running back a move to fullback could give him new life and a bigger role in the Spartans offensive attack in 2016.
Off the field issues caught Williams before he could even think much about football. After doing everything asked of him by Mark Dantonio and giving up his scholarship of the season, Williams worked his way back to limited play at running back rushing for 56 yards on 26 carries.
WHY HE MADE THE COUNTDOWN
Last season and each season under Dantonio has seen the Spartans use the fullback position to make some key plays. Williams, who will probably be the most athletic fullback in the Dantonio era will have a chance to keep a defense honest when he’s in the backfield along with one of the Spartans three top backs. While his stats may not be big, he’ll be accounted for at all times.
